Comfort Measures for Birth
This class is for both first time parents and parents who are pregnant again!
Class will cover:
- Explore the differences between pain and suffering. What does“pain management” mean.
- Learn how movement and positioning can effect your labor and birth.
- Learn how to use a rebozo, birth ball, and other comfort measure tools.
- Partners will learn hands on tips on how to support mothers.
- Discuss important questions to ask your care providers.
An AWESOME packet with LOTS of great info will be given to each couple to take home!!
Class is approximately two hours. (a one time class)

Class 1: Setting you up for success!
Class will cover nutrition, exercise, common discomforts, and what to expect from your provider. Learn how to use the resources available to you in your community.
Class 2: Phases and Stages of Labor:
Learn basics of labor and information to help you make informed birth and parenting choices.
Class 3: Delivery and Immediately postpartum:
How your body and baby work together in labor. The importance of delayed cord clamping and bonding with your baby the first hours after delivery.
Class 4: Comfort Measures
How fear inhibits labor progression. Learn techniques to help progress your labor including positions, breathing, and dad's roll.
Class 5: Postpartum, The Newborn, and Breastfeeding Basics
How to take care of yourself, your newborn, and what warning signs to look for in both mother and baby. Breastfeeding basics for a successful start.
